Hypnosis can help!

What is hypnosis?

Nothing more than the ability to focus!

If you can focus, you can be hypnotized.

Hypnosis can help!

Hypnosis is helpful when dealing with anything that is not working in life. One of the biggest reason people come to hypnosis is that they are struggling to change behavior and have been unsuccessful in doing it on their own. Behavior can also in this case be considered a physical reaction brought on by circumstance whereas the nervous system is out of balance.

The nervous system is out of balance whenever a person experiences difficulty in managing everyday life. This presents itself as panic, anxiety, migraines, fears, compulsive disorder, weight management, anger, depression, relationship challenges, excessive control, and more.

When and where this imbalance was created is something that needs to be determined during the session. Simply suggesting to a client they will no longer have migraines is as non-effective as taking medication to providing long term relief. The effectiveness in reducing the number of migraines is enhanced when the origin is addressed. For some, this may be childhood, past trauma, and others a past life experience. Solving the mystery through hypnosis is most effective to support the potential break through.

Client & Therapist Partnership

It is important to recognize that most successful hypnosis stories are a result of working together for a period of four sessions. There are situations and circumstances where one hypnosis session is the answer, most however require more to allow the story to unfold. Here is an example of peeling the layers of an onion, when the top layer is gone you see the next.

Clients typically find their way to hypnosis as a last resort. I hear often that they have tried everything else and finally find their way to hypnosis as a final attempt.

The partnership begins in the first session where the client is understands the process of allowing the process of recovery to unfold. I suggest the client make their appointments within two weeks of the other to stay on track with progress. If they wish to do them closer together, this is their choice. The closer the better, more than two weeks can be disruptive in the flow and the client may lose focus.

An integration of hypnosis with energy work, polarity, E.F.T., or conscious coaching is typically the structure. It is not necessary that the client understand the differences, it is only that they are willing to participate in the journey to wellness. Clearing the energy, either through the sublime energetic system or through physical contact of polarity or E.F.T. is extremely helpful in facilitating the release of any holding of past trauma.

Polarity Yoga & Kids

I don’t need to tell you that kids who take yoga do better in school, they do! Studies have proven that kids who do a mindful practice of being still have an increased ability to focus.

The combination of yoga and polarity yoga that we provide to our younger students supports their ability to balance themselves, hold their power, and connect deeply to their true spirit.

Polarity yoga is a gentle form of movement that combines sound and breath. The sound is used to vibrate the structure of the bones to create release. Each posture is related to an elemental quality; ether, air, fire, water, and earth.

The usefulness of children learning to use these movements is that they learn how to balance their emotions as well as their physical body in relation to energy.

An example of the elements in relation to emotions would be water to feelings of sadness, when balanced the child can access creativity in place of sadness. In relation to fire out of balance the child experiences anger or frustration. When they learn how to release these feelings through movement they can experience joy, passion, and direction. The element of air is related to the nervous system and out of balance can be experienced as foggy, or jumpy, in balance it is clarity of thought. Ether represents the space around them, and within and Earth their ability to feel secure in the world.

Polarity Yoga is wonderful for adults as well. Parents wishing to join their children in classes are invited to do so.

The floatation tank, also known as the isolation chamber, is filled with 9 inches of water and 800lbs of Epsom salt solution which creates the ability for you to become completely buoyant in the water. Inside the tank it is warm, dark, quiet, and comfortable with 3 feet above you and at least a foot on either side of you. Spacious and safe, a feeling of being held into the nothingness of floating is produced. When outside stimuli is absent the nervous system is able to reset itself.

Answers to Common Float Questions

Who can float?

Anyone can float! All you need is yourself, an open mind, and the willingness to let go and allow complete relaxation. It may take more than one float before you are able to completely relax both physically and mentally, but every floatation experience is different so the only way to know is to try it out! Children are able to float as long as a parent/guardian is present for the entire session.

Why float regularly?

Each and every floatation experience is unique. The more you float, the better the experience gets! Additionally, the benefits of floating grow exponentially when you do it regularly!

Do I need to wear a bathing suit?

You are not required to wear anything into the tank, however if you are more comfortable in a bathing suit you may wear one. It is more natural to not wear anything in the tank, any type of material pressing against your body may provide a distraction and take away from your overall floatation experience. If you decide to wear a suit we just ask that you wash it or rinse it before entering the tank.

How do you keep your tank clean and disinfected?

With more than 800lbs of Epsom salt dissolved in our tank, the concentration is so high that it is impossible for any living microorganism to survive. Additionally, the tank is filtered and sanitized before and after every session. Showering before and after floating is also mandatory.

What should I do to prepare for my float?

-Please try to shower before you arrive for your appointment. Showering before floating is mandatory and may end up cutting into your float time if you have to shower when you arrive.

-Avoid shaving at least 2-3 hours prior to floating to prevent any stinging.

-Remove contact lenses before floating, we recommend bringing a contact lense case and solution to store them while you float.

-Avoid caffeine prior to floating so it will be easier for you to relax.

-Avoid eating a heavy meal about an hour or so before floating.

-We supply towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and earplugs. All you need to bring is yourself, an open mind, and maybe a hairbrush!

Is there a wrong way to float?

There is no wrong way to float! Every individual just needs to experiment to find whatever position is most comfortable for them. Many float with their hands by their side or behind their heads. Float however you are most comfortable!

Can I float while I’m pregnant?

Absolutely! We do recommend that pregnant women get their medical professionals opinion before using the tank. Floating will allow you to escape the added weight of pregnancy, enabling you to reach a new level of relaxation and pain relief while taking the strain off your body and spine.

Can I float while I’m menstruating?

Yes, as long as you wear a tampon.

What if I fall asleep in the tank, could I drown?

The depth of our solution is 9 inches, and the density is designed to support you, regardless of size or weight; this makes it impossible to drown in the tank. Also, it is not at all dangerous to fall asleep in the tank, many people do!

Will I have enough air in the tank?

Yes. The tank has an air circulation system so fresh air is constantly being circulated through the tank. However if you feel you need more air you can always prop the tank door open with a towel or even leave it open completely.

What if I don’t know how to swim?

Fortunately you don’t need to know how to swim to use the floatation tank! The water is shallow and the solution makes you completely buoyant, like a cork.

Will I become claustrophobic?

It is unlikely that you will become claustrophobic in the tank. If you know you are claustrophobic you may still float, with the knowledge that you are in complete control the entire session. Inside the tank it is dark, quiet, and comfortable with 3 feet above you and at least a foot on either side. You are in complete control the entire time and you can go in and out of the tank as you wish. You can even float with the tank door open if that makes you more comfortable!

Can more than one person float at a time?

Unfortunately, no. Floating is meant to be a private and personal experience. But by all means, come with a friend! You can take a walk to the water, read, or simply sit and meditate while you wait for each other.

My Personal Awakening

I am asked often, “how did you get into this work?”, and of course every practitioner has a story of how their life unfolds to do what they do today.

The beginning of my spiritual path goes back to at least the very early age of elementary school. I attended a catholic school, attended mass daily, learned by nuns that to know God we must develop callouses on our knees through prayer. This all seemed to be true to me as a young being. Now, I feel very different about the ability to know God, Source, Universe, whatever the term you use for it. I know now that energy is all things, living, breathing, the earth, the animals, and the people who are in this world. We are connected by this universal energy.

There were many significant awakening points in my life. A catholic upbringing and involvement in the church was part of this awakening. It seemed I had so many questions as a young person. Why this and why that? There was a burning desire to understand why I was on earth? Why were other people here? Why did some people seem to understand a deeper meaning to life than others? My studies began after high school. Books I read were considered to others my age as books that would be assigned to them versus an interest in understanding more. I wanted to know, why am I here?

Float Just Because

A Reason to Float

You don’t need to have a reason to float, just a desire to experience something out of the ordinary. There is something so unique to this experience where your body floats like a cork in a container where external stimulus is minimal. The only other place I can imagine we have had this experience is in utero, perhaps the attraction to return to our beginning.

Over a period of thirteen years of offering floatation therapy, I have heard so many responses from people and feel at this point I have a good idea of the thought processes that take place.

Pre-Float Thoughts

Seem to include a wide array of feelings from excitement, to fear, to strange, as well as a little anxiety of climbing into a container to float. The fear seems to be related to the idea of sensory deprivation or the unknown of how the mind may play out in the absence of this sensory input from the external world. I do remember one person jumping out of the tank because she heard her heart beat. I would be more likely to jump out if I didn’t hear the sound of life within my body. The heart beat of life in utero is one of the most amazing sounds. In the tank if we listen deeply we can hear this again.

I have already talked about expectation in another post, please refer to that post prior to floating. It is really important that you are open to your own experience.

Now to address the possible fears!

Anxiety is a normal response for anything exciting and new. If you think about anxiety as energy all you have to do is bring it through the chakra system. Here is one thing to remember, YOU ARE IN CONTROL of your float. You can open the door, you can get out, you can get back in, you can get out and use the bathroom. Your experience is up to you.

As for getting into the box, this is not a tiny little box like getting an MRI. This box is four feet high, four feet wide, and eight feet long. There is approximately nine inches of solution which equates to about four inches of water and five inches of epsom salts. There is plenty of space in the tank and once eyes are closed the universe becomes available, space is infinite.

What if I fall asleep?

What if you do? You will wake up when we knock on the tank. If that doesn’t wake you we will call your name, if that doesn’t work we turn on the filter. By this time you will awaken. The most likely possibly is not sleep but a place that resembles sleep, the in between space of sleep and consciousness. Here is where information from a higher self appears effortlessly. When this happens to me I simply let it go and realize it will unfold in my waking life whether or not I remember.

Now for some possible results from your floating experience:

  • Pain reduction
  • Stress reduction
  • Clarity of thoughts
  • Peaceful feeling
  • Enhanced creativity
  • New solutions to present challenges

The other worldly experiences are possible, however, this usually requires more than floating one time.

What do you want from your float experience? This is up to you as well. We offer float membership pricing for the dedicated floater, cost is reduced to increase affordability so that you too may have deeper more awakening experiences from floatation.

An Integrated Approach

As a practitioner in healing arts therapy, one things has become clear over the years, all roads to lead to Rome.

Polarity Therapy is the foundation of my practice, however, the integration of many other therapies has been and will continue to support many clients. Using an integrative approach helps clients to enter the healing experience through the pathways clients most resonate with. One client may be more open to hypnosis, another thai yoga, another massage therapy. This is normally whichever they are most familiar with. Once the client is educated to the benefits of polarity therapy they would agree to bring this work into the session for greater results.

An example of integration as I mention here would be in relation to a client seeking support with a digestive challenge. Not all people would understand the relation of polarity to supporting digestive complaints. A client would naturally seek digestive support through enzyme replacement therapy, a nutritional approach. As a practitioner with understanding in both an integration is a natural path to supporting and improving the current condition.

Polarity Therapy embraces the whole body, digestion is the key to health and in his creation, Dr. Stone worked very closely with nutrition as well as energy balancing. Enzyme nutrition is another avenue of support because it also focuses on the nutritional aspect. Combining powerful approaches to energy balancing enhances the clients ability to heal. As a polarity therapist and digestive specialist, I would evaluate the client using specific contact to determine dietary stress. In addition to the physical evaluation, the client completes a “signs and symptoms” evaluation, basically indicates what symptoms are occurring as a result of a deficiency in nutrition. The results of these two evaluations provide the therapist with information to organ stress which in turn indicates the bodywork that would be most beneficial to supporting the client back to a state of homeostasis.

For example; a client with a history of diabetes in the family, varicose veins, tenderness to head, would indicate a pancreatic challenge. Digestive bodywork will strengthen organ systems and enzyme replacement would provide the appropriate nutrients and a strengthening to the organ systems.

Polarity Client Responses

The Polarity Clients Immediate Response

Watching a client awaken from Polarity is one of the most rewarding experiences of doing the work. The expression of joy is typically seen on their faces. Their first words spoken are; “I don’t know where I just went?” Second, I am so relaxed I don’t want to get up.

What brings clients to polarity?

I am not sure we can answer simply why they come but what they bring in to work on might resonate with you. My observations of what brings them to the work is an inner guidance.

Life challenges us daily, whatever your challenge is what you will most likely bring to a polarity session. The polarity therapist is listening intently to determine where energy is blocked and how unblocking supports the client in managing the stresses of life.

The Polarity Therapist may also be trained in advanced energy work and assist in clearing to bring in right resolution.

Life is happening, polarity balances so that you can manage life in the most harmonious way. Feeling centered, balanced, and aligned, assist in creating solutions to everyday situations.

How do we know when we are out of balance?

This is as subtle as bringing the body back to balance. The one common response I hear from clients is; “I didn’t realize how much I needed that, I feel sooooo much better”. It’s difficult to recognize out of balance until one is in balance.

Here are some of the symptoms of energy out of balance:

  • Difficulty in concentration
  • Relationships seem more challenging
  • Feeling stuck
  • Life seems more challenging than normal
  • Digestive issues
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Panic
  • Inability to conceive
  • Attracting people in life that are not serving
  • Difficulty in holding appropriate boundaries
  • Extreme emotional outbursts, anger or tears
  • Scattered thoughts
  • A lot of ideas but no follow through
  • Feelings of insecurity
  • Fatigue
  • Lack of joy or interest

These are some symptoms and there are many more. If you have any one of the above something is out of balance.

Observations Over Time

One of the most asked questions when clients receive the work of polarity is; “how often should I receive this work?”. I answer this based on the level of discomfort in their lives. Often clients who are seeking resolution from past trauma may experience more difficulty in relationship, in life itself. These clients will benefit by receiving sessions on a bi-weekly basis for at least six sessions. Others who are working on remaining balanced and clear so they are making appropriate decisions in moving forward may benefit from bi-weekly or monthly sessions. Due to the fact that imbalance can be subtle, I recommend clients come at least monthly to maintain balance while continuing to strengthen at the core of who they came to be in this life time. Simply stated, manifesting the truth of their spirit. It is always up to the client. The more frequent the sessions the faster the evolution and awakening.

Practitioners of any kind are susceptible to taking on the energy of their clients and would benefit by receiving polarity and energy clearing bi-weekly at minimum.

Please enjoy this mini polarity session…. something I put together about six years ago to educate people to polarity therapy.

Polarity Therapy Excels

As a polarity therapist for the past fifteen years I have witnessed amazing results from the thousands of clients I have had the opportunity to work with.

When I began learning the work to become a polarity practitioner back in 1999 nobody had ever heard of the work. What is Polarity they would ask? The answer is so profound that a simple explanation was nearly impossible. What I am finding today, people don’t need an explanation. They are coming to receive the work because a friend told them they had to get a session.

That is pretty much how my practice grew in the beginning. I had practiced the work on my sister while learning. She told all her friends that they needed to see me, they did. Today I see so many people coming to experience the results of polarity therapy and have to agree, it is one of the most profoundly awakening therapies available today.

I say this with experience in many fields of healing work. Polarity therapy as I have witnessed, has been the catalyst for getting people through the toughest times of their lives. People seeking this work are often, however, not always, working through a tough time. The simple balancing of energy fields creates clarity of thought, release old holding patterns in the physical body, provides direction, and helps to restore passion for living.

You don’t have to be dealing with a crisis to receive the work of polarity, in fact, polarity is the catalyst to experiencing a deeper awakening to the spiritually minded. Connecting deeper to the trust within becomes one of the greatest guides to navigating life.

A polarity practitioner since 1999, an Instructor of Polarity therapy for over fifteen years, I have been blessed to work with many on their path to evolution.

Whether you are in crisis, experience the holding patterns of the past, or simply are seeking a deeper level of awakening, polarity is the road to getting there.

Fifteen years and people are waking up to the depth of this work. I am excited to be witness to this awakening in this life time. What is exciting is that people will travel far to receive this work. I myself traveled over an hour and a half to get my polarity sessions. My clients have traveled the same distance to see me as well. Why? Because this work is such a personal experience, there is a trust bond with the Polarity Practitioner that leads people to the practitioner they most resonate with.
